Workshops
In the spring of 2012 a series of workshops will be held in various locales throughout Nova Scotia. The workshops will cover topics that will be of interest to voters and to potential candidates in the 2012 municipal elections. Each workshop will be between two and three hours long and will be conducted in a friendly, interesting and interactive manner. Individuals who are thinking about running for municipal council, want to work on an election campaign, are thinking about becoming more involved in their municipality or community or just want to learn more about municipal government will find this workshop valuable.
Workshop leaders will be drawn from Dalhousie University’s College of Continuing Education, the Province of Nova Scotia as well as current and retired municipal councillors. There is no charge for the workshops.
Further Information on Civic Engagement Sessions
The workshops will be enhanced by the inclusion of diverse perspectives and experiences [and particularly those who have been historically underrepresented in politics] and we encourage everyone with interest in this area to attend.
We want to ensure that our workshops are accessible to all interested candidates. If you require any services to enable you to participate fully, please contact us at shelby.lang@dal.ca or at 902-494-7459.
